Our Mission
From Brain Drain to Talent Circulation
Why Canada Network Exists
More than four million Canadians live and work abroad — proportionally more than five times the United States and roughly double Australia. Canada is already a global nation. The question is whether our institutions have caught up to that reality.
For many Canadians abroad, the issue is not a lack of goodwill or desire to contribute to Canada. It is the absence of structured pathways to do so. Engagement exists — but it remains informal and ad hoc.
Canada Network is that infrastructure. We connect Canadians wherever they are, help Canadian firms tap into diaspora expertise, and enable diaspora members to contribute to Canada's future — not episodically, but structurally.
Coordination
A central convener aligning diaspora groups, embassies, alumni networks, and business associations.
Circulation
Replace the "brain drain" narrative with talent circulation — insight loops and return pathways.
Mission-Driven
Tied to concrete national missions: productivity, SME succession, AI, trade diversification.
"Canada's competitive advantage has rarely been scale alone. It has been the ability to connect — across markets, cultures, and ideas. We do not lack global talent or goodwill. What we lack is the institutional infrastructure to connect that talent to national renewal."
